Making people work together does not make a team.

Teams need to be focused on a common strategy and clear objectives, they need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the other team members, accepting that someone else in the team needs support or, on the other hand, is more capable of completing a required task. Team building requires identifying and understanding the particular skills required within the team, then motivating the team to work together towards a clearly defined, common vision.

Team building involves motivation and education to encourage the team to overcome the inevitable problems they will encounter and continue to build on each other's expertise to achieve the team's success.
